GROUNDED UNDER PRESSURE

GROUNDED UNDER PRESSURE

People often think being grounded means standing on solid ground as an individual who is cool, calm, confident, and in control all the damn time.

But the reality is that sometimes the ground is completely gone.

Shattered.

Collapsed.

Hell, sometimes the floor beneath you was thinner than you realized.

All it took was one more overwhelming moment.

One betrayal.

One trigger.

Suddenly, you're back in the place you fought so hard to remove yourself from:

The Black Pool.

At first, you're not trying to climb, jump, scream for help, or even give up.

You're trying to understand what the hell just happened.

That is what the Black Pool represents.

It isn't a place.

It's a state of awareness under pressure.

It isn't failure.

It isn't weakness.

It isn't the end of your recovery.

It's an environment where your thoughts become heavy, your energy feels drained, and your sense of direction disappears. The instinct to fight may still exist, but the first task isn't fighting.

The first task is awareness.

Grounded doesn't mean standing on solid ground all the time. Sometimes it means remaining aware while the ground is gone.

That awareness protects us from becoming consumed by the environment around us. We may not have our strength yet. We may not have our answers yet. But we still have the ability to observe.

This is where dark art has a purpose.

Dark art isn't about celebrating pain. It's about giving form to experiences that are often invisible. It gives people a way to say, "That's what it feels like." When we can see an experience, we begin to understand it. When we understand it, we can communicate it. And when we can communicate it, we create the possibility of moving through it.

That is the heart of Recovery Through Creativity.

Creativity isn't there to erase the Black Pool.

It's there to witness it.

To express it.

To understand it.

To communicate it.

And eventually, to move through it when the time is right.

But even in the darkest moment, there is still light.

Not because the darkness is gone.

Not because it won't return.

But because darkness has never been able to erase light completely.

This is a simple reminder that the sky still exists above the place where you've fallen.

That is what it means to Stay Grounded Under Pressure.

The Black Pool is not the enemy. Becoming unaware inside the Black Pool is.
